One of the ancient kind of bread which was baked in the oven. It was named like this because the crust of the bread was made to be crispy (which comes from the word “to burn”). For baking such Palyalytsya our ancestors sifted flour and kneeded the dough. When it came up they used to roll it on the table. Then they took little pieces of dough, shaped them in balls, laid on the cabbage leaves or in baking shapes and sent to the oven. When Palyanytsya was baked thoroughly, the top if it was covered with egg yolk.
